I am in the process of making a mecha design tutorial on the MMFT boards, and I wanted to share it here as well, since mech design came up in a thread here on PK, and I wanted to help out. Also, I feel the pain of those looking for mech tutorials online, so I wanted to give to the community, and hopefully let a few people skip the fruitless searches that I had to go through.
Mecha Design Tutorial - Dfacto (http://www.apheliondesign.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2400#2400)
The main part ofthe tutorial is now done. The lineart is completed, so now I have to do the coloring, and some explanatory posts on how to detail, and design. I may also do a theory post on how to approach drawing a mech of that type.

Make sure to check back from time to time. I plan to continue the tutorial at least until I have a final pencil piece, and I may extend it into a coloring tutorial as well.

Yeah, it's really nice to see someone taking their time to smack together a good mech tutorial. I really like mecha's of most kinds, but sadly I draw them like I used my feet.
This could be a good time to do some intensive Mecha training :)
yeah, it looks pretty good. I think you're right when you say it needs to be longer though.:)

Great start for a wonderful tutorial.
Im not femiliar with the way you sketch. It's kind off hard for me to understand it. I think it's becouse im still not really femilair with perspective and shapes. Need more understanding.
Other from that good to know that there's more people like me. Overly bisy.
Hope your and mine exams go well ;)

Ok, the tutorial is updated now.
Krasnoznamonec: Yeah, I jump straight into it with perspective, but those without the experience will find it harder to do that. Ultimately, perspective is a requisite for drawing a good mech, or anything at all for that matter, so being able to utilize it properly is just something that you need to learn.
dram: It's longer now ;)
Cruiser18: Have at it! If you are into mechs, feel free to visit the forum that the tutorial is on btw. It's all about mechs. :D
BluesBabeofDoom: Thank you, and no problem.
