Elfen Lied

Anyone seen it? I'm currently watching it. It has to be one of the saddest anime's I've ever seen in my life.

Anyone have any thoughts?

It is extremely bloody, distrubing at some parts, and pretty depressing.

I'm only on the 5th episode (out of 13), but this is what I've gotten to far:

2 daughters of this scientist (don't remember his name) are being experimented on. Tthey both had this wierd power called "Vectoring", which is sort of the ability to rip thing in half with hands that come out of their minds. Anyways, the eldest daughter is sort of evil..and likes to kill. It acually say that her mission in life is to wipe out the human race (which she does not see herself as).

So, she escapes from her holding facility, and on the way out she gets shot in the head. This trauma sort of releases a multipule personality she never had before, one of inocence and happiness. She is found walking naked along a beach my these two cousins, and she lives with them for awhile.

A little while later, they come across another girl. This girl ran away from home because she was molested by her step father. She feels she is a burden to everyone, and they not one loves her, until she starts to live with them for good (you see, the childs mother sells her to the two cousins, because the mother loves her sick ass new husband more than her child).

More stuff happens, really sad..sad stuff through during the episodes that I've seen (such as the younger sister dying by the eldest one.).

That reminds me, the younger of the two sisters who where experimented on. She is first see chained to a wall completely naked covered in her own blood. The sad part is that she is oblivious to the fact that no one loves here, and that all fear her. She believes that, even though her dad has tortured her, her father loves her beyond comparison, this is what drives her to do his bidding. He sends he to capture the older, evil sister, but not to kill her, this is where the younger sister dies.

I can't really put a finger on why this anime is so sad, however, I found myself getting a little mysty while watching, which has never happen to me during any movie/anime/tv show.

Warning though: There is alot of nudity and blood. Including a new flash backs of the little girl being molsted by her step father (not really, just her taking her shirt off). I do not feel that this anime is meant for a younger/immature auddience. That being said...

It's great, go watch it, and talk abou it her. ^^.
