Hehehe old news but good news.

Cowboy Bebop: The movie will be another one to come soon.

DBZ will be returning to Cartoon Network... most likely on Toonami in June.

Adult Swim will also be airing the other Inuyasha movie too I think.

Cartoon Network currently has the rights to show Naruto as well as the coming back of Immortal Grand Prix but as a full anime series. Both series will not be shown until sometime later this year. (hold your breath)

I really hope they don't edit the crap out of Samcham, Scryed, and Escaflowne.. If they do, then I'll have to just watch them on DVD... again. X3

Scryed is currently being shown on Adult Swim channel Video on Demand for those who have it.

It really is ridiculous how hardcore editing over here can get. The ironic thing is censorship tries to keep us from seeing what they don't want us to see but they seem to forget that what is forbidden we will find a way to get it. It's the end of the world when a 12 year old kid learns the word "damn it" from the television!

There's nothing wrong with the dub, just the editting for AS maybe.

The worst dubbing I've ever experienced was a Canadian dubbed episode of Dragon Ball GT. I don't even know why I was watching the series because it is so bad but my ears were bleeding at how horrible and awkard the voice acting was.

Two words... Blame Canada.

The problem with television commerical advertisement is that they think we the viewers are stupid. The best part about that is when we prove them wrong.

Yes, Finally the next season of Family Guy is coming in May!!!

Fox Network, you guys better not make the stupid mistake of ruining this series and plaguing it and having it get canceled again!!

It had far better potentional when on Adult Swim, too bad Fox has it now.

The dub's been rentable on DVD forever and ever. I've seen the whole series in Japanese but I rented the ftwo dvds anyway cuz I like hearing Spike Spiegal's voice come out of Mugen's mouth.

More potential?
You think a late night basic cable time slot has more potential than something in a prime time network time slot?

To be fair, FOX in general has a fickle viewer base, while AS has a much more stable base, since the viewers already know what they're wanting to watch.

FOX always seemed like the fluzey whore of t.v. networks.

Family Guy was originally created for the Fox Network and it was first shown right after the Super Bowl and despite it being shown on such a day the ratings were that of a normal and typically expected Fox show. I think later on Fox didn't renew the third season in enough time so it was then canceled despite Family Guy having a lot of fan support later on right before it was canceled.

I think Fox Network also didn't want to show the Family Guy episode, "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein" for some stupid reason and never aired on Fox.

Anyway, after the huge and unexpected success of the Family Guy DvD sales in 2004 (said to be one of the best selling dvd of the year) and at this time Family Guy was restored and being shown on Cartoon Network which recieved very high ratings which finally showed the remaining new episode "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein"

I say "potential" (sorry an obvious typo on my part) because the past airing of Family Guy were all reruns and this new season will be all new and while the reruns were being shown on Adult Swim programming block Family Guy was one if not the most watched shows between the ages of 18-34 I think and how many times can you watch reruns until you get extremely bored by their repetitive nature?

Finally, the fools at Fox wanted to get the show back and in July 2004 I think that is when the decision was made to start the new production of Family Guy episodes. Fox brought Family Guy back with its first 13 episodes and they are now awaiting for May 2005 in order to start their silly promo of "Animation Domination" in order to help revive Family Guy, the fallen American Dad, the Simpsons 350th episode, and some oddball spinoff of an animated Malcom in the Middle episode of not a series.

Family Guy had more success on Adult Swim, why fix what isn't broke?

Another reason why Family Guy had more success on Adult Swim is because apparently the viewers looked forward to watching what aired after Family Guy namely Futurama and anything that came after that which Fox Network couldn't match in animated series lineup.

How about the fact that CN would never be able to afford to produce new episodes of Family Guy?

And even with their "fickle" viewership, I'm sure their ratings were much higher than they typically are on Adult Swim. And that's simply because it has a better time slot, on a network channel. And any new viewers that they got from airing it on Adult Swim and from DVD sales will carry over when they air it on FOX. Those people didn't forget the show existed. You get all the original fans, and those you gained at Adult Swim, and you'll get a ton more that aren't up as late as 11pm or wouldn't watch it before because it was on a basic cable channel (dedicated to cartoons).

The audience will be larger, and it's still going to air on Adult Swim, so I don't see how it could possibly have more potential only airing on Adult Swim.

Alucard: i have to argue that Family guy in the long run might actually do better on adult swim than fox, where tis sure to fizzle out and dare i say, lose its "image". that's not really what i'm trying to say. nevertheless, there really are a great deal of Adult swim devotees and merchandise for there shows does seem to be at a sudden rise (becoming extremely popular and well recieved at Hot Topic for example). and in my opinion the majority of the teenage viewers are more likely to watch adult swim for fam guy than fox, simply for its other shows and that special something about adult swim that makes it so godly. i'm just saying that there is some certain feel to adult swim, (though maybe a minority) that keeps fam guy and its other shows going strong and staying awesome. i don't really know if i'm making any sense, since this is coming from a *very* dedicated AS worshipper...**ahem**, viewer. :)

chain2treechick
04-18-2005, 03:08 PM
i guess all i'm actually saying is that though on a much smaller scale, fam guy will run stronger on adult swim.

I am just glad we will get to see new family guy episodes! And the dubbed versions of anime on adult swim are getting alot better. I think they did a great job with FullMetal Alchemist "One of my favorite animes of all time" and they might actually do it right agian with the new wave of animes they are getting. Only time will tell but lets all hope for the best.

Alucard1515
04-18-2005, 04:02 PM
That is... ridiculous.

If you like the show, you like the show. If you ONLY like the show because it's on Adult Swim, then that's something wrong with you.

The show aired first on Fox, and it didn't do poorly because it was on Fox. It did poorly because Fox kept moving it's time slot. Adult Swim didn't magically make everyone love the show. People just had somewhere that they could finally see it again. Also, IT IS STILL GOING TO AIR ON ADULT SWIM, so it's going to have the exact same audience AND it's going to have the Fox audience. Now, I don't know if they're going to air all the new episodes on AS as they premiere on Fox, but they will air eventually.

I just think it's funny how everyone's acting like Fox is taking the show away from AS. Adult Swim definitely deserves the credit for getting it back on the air, but Fox created the show AND gave him another show. As long as they learned from their mistakes airing the show in the past, I don't see the problem.

As long as it on somewhere and I can watch it I don't give a damn.

That's still Fox's fault.

Personally, I'd rather watch Family Guy on Adult Swim at 11 or 11:30 pm rather than whatever time slot Fox places it in but your right that people who like Family Guy will watch it regardless of where it is put to next and usually its anywhere from 6 -9 pm and that's right around dinner time when I don't watch as much tv. However, Family Guy also appears on TBS i think around 8pm here and even at an earlier time period they still cannot beat the viewer rating that Adult Swim has specifically with showing Family Guy.

Alucard1515
04-18-2005, 05:04 PM
That's still Fox's fault.
Of course it is. I'm just saying that it still had good ratings before they started shifting it around, so it isn't as if the mere fact that it's airing on that network will cause it to have lower ratings.

But anyway, like Frank was saying, it doens't really matter. They're making new Family Guy episodes, and that's good enough for me.

OK I love Anime and Manga and everything else. So how come I don't know any of these shows at all.

Hiltz
04-18-2005, 05:46 PM
A few possible reasons.

Most of these new series are either shown through the free Video On demand services like Adult Swim Video On Demand and The Anime Network Video On Demand which is available 24/7 to select locations and is available through Video On Demand for other locations. Scryed anime series is actually still being shown through Adult Swim On Demand.

Some of these new series weren't previousy shown on television because they weren't licensed to air in your country. Fan subs and anime magazines are probably the reason why many anime viewers know of these new series being released to show on Adult Swim in the future.

I guess this is as good as any place to report some good news.

Brand new Hellsing OAV in the works!
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=6511

It states that this new Hellsing OAV series thanks to Geneon is supposedly going to stay true to the original manga at least more so than the 13 episodes of the Hellsing tv series counterpart.

The last episode was like the best and worst episode because it showed more of Alucard's awesome vampiric powers but the ending felt unfinished.

It's kind of ironic how just when Adult Swim became its own network being seperated from Cartoon Network that both Adult Swim as well as Cartoon Network's Toonami are getting a new load of anime series in the same year at practically the same time.

the combo of Samurai Champloo and Adult Swim is a good one becuase the music from that show is kinda like the music that adult swim plays for action.

I guess in America cartoons are generally taken to be as a thing for children to watch until they become grown up and are able to watch their Mtv and later on in adulthood they can watch their Larry King Live and 60 Minutes.

Although, there's no excuse for showing cartoon shows that are annoying and childish when they are supposedly meant for more older audiences.

About your Samurai Champloo music comment, chances are Adult Swim will notice that and fool around with some of the music during Samurai Champloo promos and stuff.
