View Full Version : try my hand @ inking

I'd first like to say, "hello". This is my first post of hopefully many here at PK forums. I've recently began inking a few sketches for a game, I was hoping I could get a few critiques on a few of my works. I'm hoping to turn my art into more of an 'anime' style, including the hair, lips, and also the coloring. I'm going for an almost 'vector' style coloring with only a few hues of color. Here's a first look at some of my works. I'd love some critiquing, the heavier, the better.

im no great shakes ( ha i cant beleive i said that!) at colouring, but the lips look slightly out, and although i dont know what vector colouring is, the face looks a little flat.

Welcome to PK and have a nice day!!

(i can rhyme!)

PS: the word **** is censored.

I appreciate the crits. I guess I should give an example of vector art. Vector art contains no gradients, it is formed by shapes of colors to complete the enrire image. Very few, if any, gradients are used.

I guess that's what I am going for, just not as monotoned, if you get what I'm saying. Does anyone have any coloring tutorials, or hair tutorials?
