Nosebleed? I mean .. in all mangas, everytime someone sees a hot chick their nose bleeds ... why is that? I never get nosebleed and either does anyone I know off.. is it just some thing or do some people actually get a nosebleed?

I'm thinking it's basically blood rushing down to the crotch so fast that it just sorta flies out the first hole it reaches, namely the nose.

It's like an inside joke to the Japanese.

Probably has something to do with the character being a pervert or having perverted thoughts. It might also be the equivalent to South Park's character Stan who barfs when he is in the presense of the girl he likes.

From what I've seen, they all get it from eachother. It's entirely possible the first guy who did it got it from south park.

First of all, there were manga nosebleeds before southpark... Second I do believe it's supposed to be like stress nosebleeds, I used to get them when i was younger. Not when I saw a hot girl though, but when I was under a lot of pressure in school, at home or any other place.

Sexual arousal causes increased bloodpressure, that can cause nosebleeds in people who are prone to them.

It's just a visual symbol that japanese artists have adopted. There's plenty of similar things that american comic artists do that japanese artists don't.

South Park for instance, instead of using nosebleeds one of the characters barfs instead. Different culture yes, was I implying the majority of manga writers got the idea of nose bleeds from South Park, nope.

Stan likes the girl named Wendy and when ever she goes up to talk to him. The first thing Stan does is pukes on Wendy which is like the equivalent to the japanese nose bleed in such a way that it is embarrasing and it is a moment of nervousness and excitment for him being in her presence because he basically likes her as a supposedly attractive girl and all.
It's just a theory.

It's like a common japanese sexual related belief in anime/manga for particular male characters to feel a moment of intense excitement or embarrasment at an awkward moment that cases a change in blood pressure. The exaggerated nosebleeding flows are further intensified to illustrate more excitement or embarrasment for the character.
