Taking flight

Yeah... so i'm totally addicted to anything Cirque du soleil now. I've seen Dralion, Varekai, Alegria, The Nouba and Saltimbanco like 50 billion times now and i'm still not tired of it. Anyway this sketch was inspired by a performance in Varekai.

It's not a copy of any of the aerodynamic stuff they were doing in the peformance but i am going to bite off the silky material rope thingys they used in the show though.

The second sketch is just character composition (i'm not sure if thats the right terminology) practice. I'm trying to see if i can draw a character multiple times without them looking different. :squint: I'm so mad at the last drawings face and expresion. And their faces are much too long :tear: .

Anyway CnC on anatomy (For the first drawing) and just any form of criticism is highly appreciated... So.... yeah.

Well on the first one, I think it could look awesome. The girl being held looks a little wide in the midsection area. She should have a much smaller waist, It kinda looks like a beer belly right now. The character sketches seem to all be the same view of the character just flipped and tilted from one side to the other but not actually changing the view. Try tilting it more forwards or backwards, rotating her head more, so that you actually will change the placement of the mass of her head.

Very perceptive davidshenoda :D i was totally avoiding a front view face because for some reason they take more time and wicked effort. The goal of the exercise was to see if i could draw the same character over and over again because everytime i draw my characters they seem to change a bit and i don't want that .... so do they look like they could be the same girl or did i totally flunk this exercise.

I totally agree TaeSeong their heads are too long... i'll work on that and keep my mistake in mind during future drawings. Thanks for the CnC Y'all :D

Yeah so i was just joking around with ideas and trying to figure out what goes where and to basically see what both characters would look like if i fleshed the original sketch up a bit when i created this. The top character was the easiest to draw but when i got to the botom one i noticed that i kept running out of space. And another thing i noticed is that pyra's (character on top) hair is flowing in the wrong direction :laugh: .
Now i have to start working on their costumes :crying: CnC as always is welcome.
