Mothers Day - NEED HELP PLEASE!

My mom is crazy for Janis Joplin. I want to do a caricture of her for a mothers day present. Problem is, I'm horrible at that! I tried a quick one, just to get a feel. Tell me, is it recognizable? I used google images for ref. Any tips on drawing caricture or a Janis Joplin one would be HOT.

It's a spiff sketch, but I was thinking a big head little body picture. You might want to go in with a pen or marker now.

And don't worry it does look like her, but even if your picture didnt she'd love it anyways. C'mon, she's a mom.
