Right now Guild Wars, I've been playing like mad, level 18 in little over a week. I don't care what people say, but reaching the cap in 1 or 2 days is rediculous. I had sessions of over 8 hours and I still can't make it to level 20 in 2 days. And the great part is, when you reach level 20, the game REALLY starts, when you can still improve your stats and skills, and do all the guild tournaments and stuff.

But my all time obsession is Ogre battle for the snes. No saving option means playing sessions of over 6 hours and there were a LOT of levels to finish. And I enjoyed every single minute of it, replayed it often, ... even when I think about it, I want to play it again.

Pc game - Mu Online (free mmorpg)

Played this game nonstop for 4 months then stopped playing it for a few months. Then came back and now it's been 5 months. 9 months total.

I started playing Unreal 1 online some time in 1999. I joined a (one of the top :D) clan right when UT99 came out. From about 2000 to 2002 I must have played at least an hour everyday. Then came the horrific UT2003. That game sucked so much I stayed with UT99 until UT2004 came out. So for the past year or so I've been playing UT2004 but nothing like when UT99 was popular.

What makes these games so much fun is that you're always getting better. I been called a cheater for getting good shots and for doing lots of moving combos with the shock rifle, but come on, I've been playing the game for about 6 years now, I should be somewhat good at it by now.

I'll most likely move on to UT2007 when it comes out in a year, I just hope they're not BSing when they say they want to bring back the UT99 feel.

Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven. Lots of replay value. I played it practically all summer after I got it. I finally played it so much I kind of got bored of it. I'll be coming back to it again though, eventually. Either that or I'll get Fatal Shadows.

Nightmare is not slow... Astaroth is slow. The thing that makes Nightmare so badass is all his moves flow so well. You can practically have a never ending combo.

Nightmare rocks, my only weakness is Raphael. Those lunges are killer because i get blocked with my vertical swings . . . if you want a cheap shot at your opponent with Nightmare, go for(if im correct) a ->+A for a fast horizontal attack that knocks the opponent on the ground, then go for a running vertical(when i say ->+A im talkin about the GC version, not sure if its different for Xbox but it is for PS2)

Link i like for the GC vers but i cant use arrows worht crap against A.I.

Necrid is the wierdest to learn because you don't know what attacks do waht till you use them.(the asteroths moves were the best and defeated opponents pretty quick.)

You can't use the arrows worth crap against anything that isn't an idiot. As for Raphael, sidestep. It's all about the sidestep. You can dance around that **** like it's nothing. Only person more vulnerable to a good sidestep is Maxi.

Nightmare's vertical attack when sidestepping forewards is particularly nasty. You know, the high, high, low combo.

Both Nightmare and Asteroth have much better sidesteps then anyone gives them credit for.

If I had a nickel for every time my buddy Joel sidestepped my lunge and flung me into the sky with an uppercut, I would be able to buy and sell your ass a hundred times over.

Back on topic, I have to agree with Marvel V Capcom 2 being insanely addictive. We played this game for years. The only reason we still don't is because there's never a PS2 at the house everyone is usually at.

Personally, one game I ALWAYS come back to is Civilization 3. I do have to take breaks occassionally, but once I get back into it, I'm hooked.

Also, when I first got Resident Evil 2, I beat that game about a million freaking times. You have to beat it like 6 times to get both secret characters, but I didn't realize it had to be on normal. So I had actually beaten it 2 times on the easy setting, and then had to beat it 6 more times on normal. And that didn't stop me from beating it again, and again, and again... I knew that game inside and out, without the use of a strategy guide.

Hell, Nightmare's leaping smash will do a dandy job of getting over your low chain combo.

Everyone seems to think that I'm bashing Ivy and Voldo. They are some of my favourite characters.
That being said, Nightmare's strengths are some of their weaknesses.
I am well aware that Voldo wiggles around like a maniac. Most of his defence revolves around his somewhat unique ability to duck moves, or wiggle to the side. Nightmare's swings are all huge moves, making dodging ineffective.

As for Ivy, she relies on her range to overcome her lack of speed. Nightmare has a fair amount of range himself and is tough enough to block his way inside Ivy's guard. Once he's in his own considerable range, he can cut through her like paper.

Both Ivy and Voldo however are excillent against Taki.
Ivy's horizontal swings cover an ENORMOUS range and are practicly impossible for Taki to sidestep, forcing her to rely on her shitty block. Also, Taki's speed isn't much of an advantage, because she has trouble even getting close to Ivy.

Against Voldo, her mobility is useless. Sure she can dance around a character, but Voldo can attack from any angle, so who cares if she slips behind you.

Just because I know a characters weaknesses doesn't mean I don't like them, or that I don't know their strengths.

I didn't think you were bashing them, I just think you're wrong about Voldo not being able to avoid his attacks. Nightmare is like the easiest character for me to beat with Voldo. Yeah, he's got some slick combos and they do massive damage, but Voldo is really fast, has some good lunging moves to jump in close and stay on the attack, and it's really easy to avoid most of his combo starts. As long as you don't let him start hitting you, he's not really that difficult with Voldo.

Voldo isn't really that fast. He can be fast sometimes, but usually he's pretty slow. He moves in bursts. I'm not a big fan of Voldo's lunge either. It kicked my ass a few times, but after I learned to anticipate it, I find it kills Voldo more often then me. Also, no one is hard if you don't let them hit you.

But that's beside the point. I'd guess that either you are really good with Voldo, or your friends suck with Nightmare. I don't think Voldo has ever given me problems with Nightmare.

Cassandra however, is another story. However, I mantain that she is unbalanced, and a whore.

Voldo is about the only character who's moves I can actually remember, so I tend to use him most of the time. And when I say he's fast, I don't mean that he keeps a steady stream of attacks. There are plenty of people in the game way faster than him. He doesn't pull off a huge hit combo in a short amount of time, but he can make many quick, and unpredictable strikes, and a lot of them done from a run (which is what I meant by lunging).

Also, no one is hard if you don't let them hit you.
Yeah, but that's not easy with certain match ups. Voldo v Nightmare? I don't have a problem. Nightmare is pretty slow, and his moves all have a really obvious tell. You almost always know if he's going vertical or horizontal, and telling exactly which move it is isn't even that hard with him. Voldo can just pop him real quick to knock him out of that move (or grab him), and then just start wailing on him with a combo. Keep his ass on the ground, run away if he actually starts to get up, then repeat.

The person that IS hard for Voldo to go up against is ****ing Kilik. If someone knows how to use him, you can never get close enough to do anything.

Volda's movements are unpredictable but his attacks are not.Since he is a close range fighter he has to penetrate your character's attack range in order to successfully attack you. Obviously,the closer you get to him then his attack range improves.

Nightmare's just too slow in both movement and reaction time. Sure, a player can bring out the best in Nightmare but in general he is a sluggish character. His easy knockout swings are pretty useful but generally if Nightmare's attacks miss then it leaves him wide open for the enemy to attack him.

I'm more of a Cervantes,Taki, and Yoshimitsu player. Get your attacks in, defend if necessary, then back off. Throwing comes in handy if enemy's too close. :)

I'm scared of a skilled Ivy player. She can dominate with long range attacks which makes it difficult to get within attack range to kill her. Thankfully, she isn't without her weaknesses thanks to characters like Taki who can actually make use of her special flip to the opposite side of the screen.

Becuase hes a knight and thats how they spelled it in the game, did a quick check on google, but i'll go back to the game later.

Knightmare isn't that sluggish, though you do have to be careful about missing, then again thats every character. And even if they come in close, thats what the multiple stances are for.

Yeah Knightmare has everything, fluid moves, great defense, and a bunch of throws that would make a noobie cry like a newborn

Not half as cool as Mitsurugi and Taki in a samurai vs. ninja showdown.

The Mitsurugi player has to have nice ****ing defence, but that's why I like it.

I can tell if a match was good or not with my eyes closed. You can HEAR a good defence, and defence MAKES a match.

I went on a little recon alittle while ago. Nightmare(me) V.S. a practice EXTREMELY HARD computer, Ivy.(in retrospect i dominated her most of the time) right off the bat she went long range with the sword and took me down like 7 notches. The instant i got a attack in i destroyed her. getting in close with grabs and killin her off with verticle specials.

All in all Nightmare kick's Ivy's slow butt 1000 times over(when used with a skilled player) and then....Rapheal killed me badly....those lunges ARE killer! haha! I'm smarter! and crazy!

Ivy's a bit faster then Nightmare, she's also got a really fast backstep, I think FF said it's the fastest in the game. So by keeping him out of range she can do a good job.

I find Nightmare/Ivy matches to be pretty even.

I like pulling off Yoshimitsu's list of bizzare attacks. Like Turning suicide, teleporation meditation,Sword Pogo attacks. He's got a good list of launchers and throws including Hayabusa, Deathcopter, Solar Kick,Bullet Cutter, Crying Spirit Sword,and Rapid Gale which aren't hard to pull off when your in need of a fast and responsive attack.

He's got like medium attack range and is a fast fighter. Of course, he isn't without his disadvantages.

That implies that you suck. The bomb is the most transparent move Link has. I suppose he can work it into a few combos but come on . . .
Besides, I've never seen him be able to get more then two upward stabs in a row.

I agree with figure four. I'd rather not, since somehow we don't get along for some reason, but I don't like people with bad videogame taste either. And if you're really comfortable about your videogame knowledge, you'd know you're not insulted by him when he says that, when you play those games. (though burnout 3 isn't at the same lvl as the other two, but still not a bad game)
I could easily say I'm obsessed with castlevania symphony of the night, or super metroid and know I can get away with it because those would be great games, and I know it. However if I didn't know what makes a good game I would feel insulted by it, and by doing that I would indirectly say I don't know if I play good games or not.

Also, I have a monkey in my pants, which is funny because I use that to taunt people in guildwars which is by the way totally sucking up all my free time. Our guild is slowly growing and becoming ready for the pvp battles, we just need more monks, like probably everybody does.

Hmm, mix of different things. Starcraft campaigns got played a whole lot even though I knew exactly what was gonna happen, but the story was great anyway.
Max payne also managed to get beaten through xx number of times.

Diablo 2 before 1.10 was retardedly easy. It kicked ass after 1.10.It was pretty easy if you knew how to play at all, but even so, its not like there wasn't any challenge. Plenty of monsters were still capable of killing high end characters.

Its not like I don't like challenge though. I like the idea of tough bosses and super uniques, but they wen't overboard with the normal monsters. Now monters in Act 1 Hell can kill high level characters in a few hits. Also, whats the point of having godly uniques if they don't let you slaughter the weaker monsters? Getting a super rare item was supposed to be a good thing since it made you strong, but now you need those kinds of items just to stay alive.

Counterstrike and CS:Source. I could play nonstop for about 12 hours like a zombie... simply playing with Scout Rifle, knife, or the M4 Shotgun. If I don't look at the scores (which I unbound my tab button) I usually end up top of the list... and people accuse me of hacking.
