psp gets first pirated game

for lumines, except theres no sound, which is like playing ddr without music. So its pretty much 100% worthless at this point, and kind of funny that they even put forth the effort.

Obviously it wont take long before other games end up like lumines, sony needs to get on the ball and release firmware updates that people will actually want to download. Like one with a browser (its "in the works," maybe this will actually make them get it out as soon as they can rather than fart around). But I dont think it will be a big problem at all, as long as psp games are big then people are going to need a 1gb memory stick or possibly a 2gb memory stick, those dont come cheap so its not like a high percentage of people will beable to play pirated games even if they wanted to.

I will admit, it will take a DAMN good update from sony for me to update the psp past 1.5 and give up playing snes games on it (atleast untill fall when it gets a handful of good games that require an update).

I tried to update to 1.51 but it said it failed. Screw Sony if the only reason they want me to update is because they don't want me to hack their machine. How about they start releasing more games.

PS3 is going to sell for $399? They saw that the PSP sold like hotcakes for $250 so they're getting bigger balls. Now I really believe that they'll try to sell $70 games. And they wonder why people wanna hack the PSP. For what I paid for that damn thing I'd hack it to open my garage door, control my tv, and walk my dog...ya, the one I don't even have. :squint:

actually, even though ther're selling for 399 bucks, sony wont really see any net returns until about a year after that considering that it cost them more than that to make the ps3. so basically for the next year or so, if the ps3 dont sell like hot cakes and beat out the xbox 360, sony's gonna be in for some serious shit, because unlike bill gates, they dont have an ungodly amount of money to loose until they starting seeing some return

My friend has a really nice xbox hacked with the xbox media center. I think the only reason I've been considering getting one now was so I could hack it too. I might just wait a bit longer though for the 360 to come out and then I can get the old one cheaper. :p

I came really close to updating the psp to 1.51 too, the only thing stopping me was the fact that the battery has to be full before it would update and I didnt feel like recharging it forever just for a stupid security update. Once the memory stick swap hack came out I knew that a method which wouldnt involve a swap would come soon after. Now Im really thankful I didnt update the psp since I can finally play some rpg's on it through the snes emulator. They are taking a ridiculously long time to get rpg PORTS (already have translated to english) over to the psp that have been out in japan for almost a year, Im sick of waiting for some good single player games.

Actually, I may not be too far from that since a friend of mine said she could get me an xbox for $50. Then I just need the chip and the xbox live crap (unless it already has it). I don't know yet what's with it since it's used.
