So, here I am, in the local video store and I see this cool looking anime, so I buy it. And what happens? It turns out to be Hentai! And not just any Hentai, no. It was Urotsukidoji, a tentacle Hentai film. So, I was wondering, has any of you ever bought an anime and it turns out to be ... not what you expected?

You should always do research before you buy anime DVDs. From what I hear, most of them are not worth the price. The only anime DVDs I'd ever consider buying are the Miyazaki films and the Last Exile DVD box set.

Heh, yeah. When I first got into Anime when Pokemon came out. I went to the video store and asked them if they had any "anime" they pointed me to the cartoon section. I saw the only one they had, it was called "Demon Hunter". Wow....I love that shit. I was definately hooked on anime after that experiance.

I agree with Xion. Some stores charge over $25 for some anime dvds when you can find them at another store for around $20 or $15. Bargain hunting!

The closest I've come is buying a dvd off Ebay that claims to official, but when I get it I have my doubts. That's Ebay for you though, and since it still is of decent quality video and low prices, I don't really mind.

had a bad experiance with buying a hentai anime thing. It said it was the same rateing as any of the other movies and since I was buying ghost in the shell: the movie that day and it had the same rateing as that I didnt care to do much reserch behind it. I think it was like sailor moon somtin. Anyways I watched it (was geting it for gf) and it turns out to be hentai.

If you want to by any anime DVDs, might i recommend ones by "ADV". For anime dvd buyers, i think there agood choice because they license alot of great stuff. However, its for that same reason that Anime Downloaders (like Myself) Hate them and wish they would die........

No ninja scroll doesnt have any form of hentai in it, it stands for perverted.

If there is a sex scene in an anime that isnt set as a hentai title, then you cannot call any sexual content in it for hentai.

And the scene wasnt perverted, it was part of the storyline.

Also I have read the entire manga of Urotsukidoji, I dont own it, i just had the chance to read it and read it too the end becouse i wanted to know how it ended. Thou the anime was crap that was just sex sex sex Avoid like the utter plauge I say. The manga actully has a pretty good storyline even if it was hentai. I have no intention about touching La blue girl thou, wich is another of the creators hentai comics.

And i must say its expertly drawn, sex is a importent for the storyline but there is alot more to this manga then sex.

Ninja Scroll only had those few scenes to show the harsh reality of fuedal Japan and what was expected from women.

It showed the evil intentions of men like the sadistic Devil of Kimon named Tessai who mistreated women. Tessai said that he wouldn't mind raping a dead woman if he had to kill Kaguro in order to sexually satisfy himself. I guess in a way you can interpret these as tasteful because it isn't intended to get viewers sexually excited, but to have them in order to serve a greater purpose in the story. Ninja Scroll went even further to include Yurimaru who was gay and Genma who I think is bisexual if I remember correctly.

The Inuyasha anime series includes those semi-nude scenes as a source for comical reality. People sometimes intentionally or accidently walk in on someone when they are changing clothes or when they are taking a bath.

Also,the monk named Miroku is infamous for his butt grabbing. This shows that Miroku is the exact opposite of the typical male hero. The typical male hero generally ignores and does not give into their own sexual attractions toward female characters so that they keep their heroically unselflish status intact. This makes them the ideal "perfect" good guy.

The Inuyasha anime series displays Miruko as an imperfect hero and in the real world there is no such thing as a perfect hero because everyone gives into their emotions and feelings. If you don't then doesn't that mean your neglecting your own humane affections? Yet desperate all of this Miroku is still a pervert for touching a female's butt since that action cannot be justified. :laugh:
