AvP isnt the best game ever on a technical standpoint, but a fanboy standpoint I have yet to have more fun online slaying endless amounts of aliens with buddies...

Best games ever sooo tough. I had to pick Metal Gear Solid, particularly 2 and 3 where two of the best games I ever played. But there are alot of my best games ever.

Best Rpg's: Fallout 1 & 2 followed by chrono trigger in a close second.
Action adventure RPG typish mouse masher: Diablo 1 by far. Oh yeah remember old school Crusader? (sp?)
Best RTS: hmmmm Rise of Nations and Age of Empires. (you have no clue how much time i have wasted with those games.) followed closley by Star Craft.
Best FPS: Half-Life especially because of counterstrike.
Best Sim: Sim hospital.
Best strategy turn based rpgish type game: X-Com: UFO Defence
Best kingdom type game: The Settlers series and then maybe Heros of Might and Magic.
Best Racing game: None. They all suck.
Best Sports game: Maden NFL whatever.
Best Adventure game: Beneath a steel sky (sp?) If you havent played it do it now!
Best Tycoon game: Transport Tycoon. Still love it after many, many years.
Best MMORPG: Kingdom of Loathing. Check it out at Kingdomeofloathing.com

You spelled Tekken wrong. Also, Soul Calibur 2 is the definitive 3d fighting game. Tekken shouldn't be on the list.

Final Fantasy 7 is overshaddowed by it's predecessor, which you have also neglected to include on your list.

Tetris should also be on there somewhere.

As for Mario, Zelda and Sonic, those are all franchises containing like 30+ games. Be more specific asshole.

Metal Gear Solid is the only game there that I could even think of selecting. But I'm not going to select it, because I hate your stupid poll.

No, the definitive 3-D fighter is Soul Calibur for the DreamCast, or Virtua Fighter 4 Evo.

The best 2-D fighter is Guilty Gear XX #Reload hands down. Nothing else even comes close.
