eh...there was probably one of these dealies in the old forum...but, oh well. I quest for comics you enjoy online. You know...the stuff drawn by mostly amateurs on their spare time kinda stuff. Stuff with nice art and a good, solid storyline. That kind of stuff.
I thought it'd be at least nice to let others know of them. I don't know, and maybe say what you like about the comic, if you can. And if you see a comic you've read already linked to, please don't post the same thing... and try to keep them in a manga/anime style, if possible. That'd be nice. Yeah. I'd like to know your opinion...

I'd check out Drunkduck.com for those. Some are crap, others are addictive but crap, and others are good and others anre addictive and good.
I myself own a comic on there, but it ain't started up yet.

I'd like to take this time to say that Megatokyo is an atrocity.
That is all.

Megatokyo.com (http://www.megatokyo.com) is set as my IE homepage at the minute... I have both the books and I'm looking forwards to owning book 3. But saying that I am dissapointed in him concentrating more on getting books ready for publishing rather than keeping the story flowing on his site... but I understand that money make the world go round and I bet the books make more for him ^_^ plus how many webcomic artists get there stuff published and put in stores around the globe?
I used to enjoy 8-bit theatre... can't remember the url though it was something like nuklearpower.com (http://nuklearpower.com/)... wait I just checked and it is that.

entervoid.com This is an online sequential art fight club. Anyone can join, you create a fighter and battle other artists' fighters. I'm currently making a fighter, and even if you don't participate most of the comics people create are just cool. What I find really cool about it is that it doesn't matter how good your art skills are. There are those who are great, and then there are those who are not, but you get to see everyone improve.
CenterStormOnline (centerctorm.net) different people sighn up to draw part of a specific comic storyline. Anyone can join.

Sin Fest (http://sinfest.net)
Haiku 5-7-5 (http://haiku5-7-5.com) which is just one of the best comics i've ever read. period. (could be the idea of quasi-furries as Yakuza that makes it such a favorite.)

"Oh figure four to you and your almost insane need to probaganda your hatred of a stupid comic."
I totally missed that.
I suppose it's true though.
I wouldn't really consider it propaganda though.
I actually used to read and enjoy Megatokyo, back when I was stupid.
It just kind of irritates me how Fred Ghallager is almost completly talentless, particularly as a writer, and yet recieves tons of support, and even money for his lame ass efforts.
But if you guys want to pay for cliche girly manga drawn by a semi talented lame ass white guy, be my guest.

Nah i was just pointing your obsession over something so silly.
Shoot, I really hate Evaglion and its hailed as the greatist animes on earth. SO it's just a matter of taste.
Cliche'? You could call it that, but on that note, Read "How not to draw manga" Both takes some from anime and makes fun of it a bit.
Also, i haven't read any other, manga or domestic that had something similar to Megatokyo.
Name two others with a story line like so.
Besides, i'm kinda fond of the sketch art. Take care figure

Fortunatly, my knowlege of Shojou manga has totally desintigrated.
Sadly, it means that I have no idea what the names of any of them are anymore, but his comic is pretty typical for the genre.
I'm not even saying it's terrible, he's just not particularly good either.
Here, just read this.
Maybe you'll understand what I'm talking about then.

I agree and disagree with that "article". Most of the things he says are problems with MegaTokyo are problems with half, if not more, of the webcomics out there. Doesn't mean they aren't problems I agree, but I think they're simply something that happens with webcomics.
Slow story movement for one. If he would like to see slow story movement he should check out, what was it called, Seasons of Constancy(?). I could be off about the title, that could have been a different one, anyway, it *never* moved I don't think. It had been going for quite some time and didn't get anywhere. There are others too, I'm sure.
That said, I do agree that after Largo left, the comic lost some of its spontaneity.
I kind of stopped reading it because I got busy. I don't read much, if any, shoujo manga so I wouldn't know if it's typical of the genre.

Yo, how is that shojo? Esle you'd call Love Hina a shojo comic--which it most certainly is NOT. I don't care how many girls are in the story. That doesn't make something a shojo manga. From my perspective, shojo speak of a totally different range of comics. They're essentially by girls, for girls, sappy romantic story pieces. I somehow doubt Gallagher tried makiong a story like that. Rather, it's just a story about two friends stranded on Japan.
Also, FigureFour, I can understand how you dislike how the Megatokyo artist is as you put it "an American" but y'know, that's how online comics go. Online comic artist generally come from everywhere, yet you seem to only hate that one guy...
I wanted to ask you people now, though, what about the comics that are less widely known? i've heard of most of these comics, but there's got to be more out there, right? It'd be nic of you to drop a line in of stuff no one may never heard of before...

Actually, the story he thought he was going to be doing, the one he'd worked for a while, I think it was going to be called Warmth, was that kind of story.
Whether or not MT is shoujo is debatable. It has some shoujo elements, and some certainly non-shoujo elements.
On less heard of comics...
Steampowered (http://www.steampowered.net/) looks like it might turn out to be cool.

I don't just hate that one guy.
I hate 99% of all webcomic artists.
There is a REASON most of those guys have about 0 readership. It's mostly garbage.
The only reason I single out Fred Ghallager is because I think he gets way more credit then he deserves, and that pisses me off.
I hate to see mediocrity rewarded while talented artists have to struggle to survive.

one of the reasons megatokyo is popular is because it's been around for awhile, and is more or less updated consistantly. It got a lot of strong plugs from larger webcomics early on in it's life, and was heavily promoted in all kinds of messageboards.
a consistant stream of updates, combined with enough interesting situations for the characters to experience, combined with word of mouth advertising mean that it'll have readership to support it, whether or not the story and art are as brilliant as the sun, or as dim as a night light.
that being said, i follow it along with penny arcade, but if I had to pick between the two, i'd drop MT in a heartbeat.

I think the only thing you mentioned there that MT actually has is word of mouth advertising.
