Default Alucard1515's sketchbook and stuff (4-17-2012)

Well, I'm putting this here mostly because all the stuff is finished and posting for critique might be a bit pointless now. This is stuff I did for school that I didn't have time to scan or post within the last year. They're not sketches, but I felt this area was more appropriate, and if I do any sketches or unfinished stuff, I'll put it here.

This was my last layout assignment. We had to do a self promotional poster and get a print of it. This was mine.

We had to do some illustrations for a poem in basic drawing. This was one of them.

Zap Rowsdower! This was a movie poster assignment that I colored with Dr. Martin Dyes.

This was for some weird project, but we could do pretty much whatever image we wanted.

We had to do a gouche painting in my methods class. I've never used it before, and they're kind of weird. They act kind of like oils and acrylics in others. If you've ever used both of those, then you realize how weird that could be.

Our humor teacher had us do a charicature of Ozzy Osbourne. I did it on scratchboard.

This was my final methods and materials assignment.

These were pages for my last basic drawing assignment. We had to do a specific time and location, using reference.

Sorry if it seems like a lot. I'm off for the summer so I have lots of time, and now I have broadband at home, so that makes keeping up with this place much easier. I've also got a few more things added to my website. The links in my sig. Thanks for any comments.

Those last two comic pages are awesome.

Referenced from 'Rome' I'm guessing?

Ha, you guessed it. A little from Gladiator, and some random other sources as well.

Very nice, it seems as if your style adapts to the kind of drawing you're making. And that's a nice quality, especially if it works

Here's another quick speed paint I worked on. Took about an hour and a half, but the lower right part is unfinished.

I know that the last was a speedpaint, but it would make a nice golem if worked a bit.

Yeah, most of this stuff is probably going to be finished for now. I'm putting most of the stuff I did over the course of the school year. Speaking of which.... I've got a few more things I just scanned tonight.

This was one of my first assignments. There was no real requirements other than size and medium, we were allowed to draw whatever.

A later assignment in the same class. We had to do a comic cover, so I chose Swamp Thing. The teacher, Kim DeMulder, actually used to ink Swamp Thing in the late 80s and early 90s.

Inks of the same image.

In Adam Kubert's narrative class we had to do a "death of a hero" cover, which we eventually had to do 2 pages for. It's Squirrel Girl of the GLA if you don't know. The people in the second page are villains that she's beat in the past who are out for revenge! She actually beat all these people in the comics... MODOK, Thanos, Dr. Doom, and Bibeast (I didn't name the guy).

This was one of the first assignments in Adam Kubert's class. We had to draw a child we had drawn previously aged with some weird, mutated cat (of our design) amongst rubble and destruction. We were supposed to convey loneliness.

i like your choice of composition and how the eye moves through your pics. also your imput of necessary detail in every pic-- not too much, not too little. i especially like the speed painting of the canyon rock.

Onicloud- I don't know... uh, watch a lot of weird movies growing up and draw monsters for a long time? And thanks, I'm going to try to keep this thing up to date.

Iv.Doll- Thanks.

Anyway, did another speedpaint last night from reference. Took about an hour and a half.

Scanned another batch. I went through all my stuff today to see how much more I have to scan in and... I have 47 more images to go after these. Yikes.

This one was for my humor class. We had to do some gag cartoons for magazines or whatever. If you don't know who Rob Liefeld is, this makes no sense. Look him up, because his art will do wonders for your self esteem.

This was another scratchboard assignment, this time for Kim DeMulder's methods class.

These three pages were done for Adam Kubert's narrative class from an Ultimate X-Men script he had previously drawn. This was maybe 3/4s through the year and I still had a bad habit of being pretty loose with my shading, which really shows in some of the panels and on the first page in particular. I hate most of the rain effects. We also had to ink just one of the pages, which is why the other two are in pencil.

Bloodpouch would be the best comic ever. Don't try to deny it.

Oh, and the other stuff looks pretty good too.
