@ jt4470 & Mordax:

Figures are tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, all it takes is repitition and practice. First I would practice stationary figures, with proportion anatomy and other useful info, but as you go on and on, try observing people and drawing them in subtle motions and positions. Draw anywhere you can, the subway, school, anyhwhere there are people. This will improve your speed and the ability to capture the human form accurately and efficiently.

Anatomy books help a ton too! But try to establish a hip line, and the shoulder girdle as well as the spine. As for other references, i like to study the artists i admire, to pick up techniques and such. However, referencing other people's arts, for the time being stay away from the hugely exagerated figures, like hyung tae kim or some of the marvel artists, instead study artists that stay close to the human form, and when you're comfortable, then branch out, try exaggeration and other fun stuff.

I love your style! Those figures in post #15 and the "legend comic thing" on page 3 rule...
Your style is great! Keep it up and I'd love to see more!

Oooo! Really nice!
I like the colors of the Cuchulainn pics, they give the pieces a really good feel.
And the scenes are real good, they really look like something would be going on there.

@jigokuen : dude, you still beat me in the class.... pffft 1.25 points ;_;

@jt4470: Lol yea, i have trouble just sketching people too ;_; try starting with thumbnails, i used to hate it but my perspective teacher forced me too, and it works pretty well too

@3amoora: lol thanks! That ones my favorite too though his face is a bit funky looking

@WeeRlegion: Thanks, it was the first time, using this kind of color scheme, so i tried to tie all the pics in with style and color.

@AmourFonce: yeah, my teacher is a beast for storytelling thanks!

ah, is there a specific way to start the figure? line of action or something?
I have a hard time blocking in forms. Thanks for the tips!

Man, those visual development homework you and your sister do are fun to look at. I love seeing the progression between the initial silhouettes to the detailed characters to them placed in an environment.

Please post the figure drawing stuff when you get a chance.

Wow. Got quite some inspiration from looking through this sketchbook. Think I'll spend some time doodling again. ^^

Awesome! The background sketches really flesh out the setting you were going for. Final Project is lovely as well.

My only gripe is that the colors feel a bit too watercolorish, I dunno if that's what you were going for though.
