al.chemy.org

Alchemy is a program used for the initial stage of drawing, rather than completing the picture with it. It's supposed to be a bit experimental and intuitive. Give it a try, I'd say.

OPEN CANVAS 1.1 PROBLEM.
Spoiler:

This is what OC looks like for me if I save it from here...
If I simply run it, it's normal. but I can't save anything, so if there's an error or my computer freezes, i'll lose my work.

blackrockshoota: in case you dont know already, top right on the menu is 'help', and under 'help' is an option to switch the text to English. That's the first time I've heard of a save problem...do you mean that hitting ctrl-s or clicking on 'save' in the menu doesn't save the file?

Now whenever I try to draw in OC, it like... draws in a different place. Like I'll move my mouse on the right side but the lines will appear on the left side.

Anyone got any 2D animation programs you can actually draw in? The robotmonkey thing you can't draw in, and the other animation program someone posted is horribly pixelly... You basically draw with huge blocks of pixels.

Alchemy is pretty sexy.

gogh is a python based - very simple graphics editor:
http://www.goghproject.com/

I'm working on another really simple sketch program... we'll see how that goes.

Just came across these two:

drawpile: http://drawpile.sourceforge.net/ <-- for collaborative work. Like a ms paint version of OC, with pressure sensitivity, opacity

mypaint: http://mypaint.intilinux.com/ <-- A kind of Painterly program. Runs very well under linux, I've played a bit on my windows box, too.

Yep, Colors DS is forkin brilliant. Plus the playback option is too sweet. Before Colors, I didn't even realize DS was capable of pressure sensitivity.

There's some really sickening stuff on the gallery

This is probably my favourite.

Just a few simple strokes. But it looks like a photograph

Yup, well most of it, there's a version out for ipod touches but they're pretty much the same, I think ipod has better resolution though.

Sculptris http://Sculptris.com

3D sculpting program. It's a one man project at the moment, pretty fun to play around with. I'll be posting up some sketches I've done with it soon.

Cool... never tried any animation software, this looks promising, I'll have to screw around with it if I have the time.

'Nother animation software I can't remember seeing on here.

Pencil.

http://www.pencil-animation.org/

I can't seem to find the Linux version of PAP Pro on there, I might have to email someone to grab that...

Default Stick Man 3D - FREE Software

Hey guys,

I have a free software called StickMan3D

It is basically a 3D virtual stick man. You can change the size of all its bones. You can drag the bones around to set the posture you want. You can zoom, pan and rotate the stick man. When you are happy you can take a screen shot and use it as a guide for drawing manga, anime, cartoons etc.

It is completely free to use. It loads in your browser.

Check it out http://stickman3d.com

you only need to download a small 3mb plugin to support the 3D player.
