Tried out a few armor-like things... didnt like the whole picture. Now im sitting here and doing new thumbnails and exploration to get a better pose/composition. Id be happy to hear some of ya opinions =)

I really like how you rendered the muscles, so I wouldn't put any armor on top.
I feel like the underlying musculature on the torso looks a bit weird, but you're also adding centipede legs, so we can probably chalk it up to stylization.

I love the rendering on the middle cropped image. The organic metal stuff. So good!

Consider the pose a bit more. What is the character doing? Especially the foreshortened hand feels like you are making it difficult for yourself for no reason.

Hold on a minute stranger, the brachioradialis should point at the thumb. With this hand twistd the way it is it should be more to the outer side of the arm, rather than the inside.
See what I mean:

Thanks yall for the comments =)

Yeah i wasnt that content with the anatomy aswell (also thanks Nmn for pointing out the muscle on the arm, i hadnt noticed until you said it o.o)
Actually ive started redoing the picture recently.
I have some real trouble coming up with interesting poses somehow... so im trying to fix that. Actually the character is most likely going to be changed at many points, so those are kind of wasted now but meh...

#nothappyyet :I I was thinking of covering his entire body with the armor that is on his right shoulder right now, what do you guys think? Something (maybe) organic looking like that or rather the bio-technological version from before?

The next step. I am reworking his anatomy and trying out a new rendering process involving a soft brush; something i have tried to avoid for most of my time drawing :/
I could really use some constructive feedback / objective opinions right now :o

finished him! =D

Also, after finishing him i took a few moments to relax by trying out a new more lineart-focussed style.

On the left is the new version on the right is the 2 years old original.

I love your greyscale to color digital paintings and use of texture.

So this is where the picture from above is right now. Ive been very busy the past while so i didnt really get that far yet.

And then this was a quick sketch i did today to relax a bit and loosen up.

Slowly but surely working my way through his body... Its all grayscale again with some layers on top to show you guys my idea of the color he might go for.

DAT RENDERING! You usin' smooth brushes or smudging the hell out of it? Jes' wondering. Shmadge never worked for me tho, unlike smooth brushes.
