can someone guide me to a good "human body" tutorial? I seem to have trouble in drawing legs and hands. they seem so bone-less and muscles dont look realistic at all.

Hey mate, you probably wont get a tutorial that will cover all of the human body in any useful depth. Instead i recommend looking for some books. (you should be able to find what you need with googlemancy skills).

Bridgman, loomis and hoggarth are good places to start. If you are going from the very beginning loomis is your best bet.

Actually, you can go here for the best reference for fundamental (it's Loomis work), dedicated for the very beginners and pros alike . Here you go: www.fineart.sk

I love that place as much as this: http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm (my favorite!), he has laid down the most important part of art on what should be studied. As far as I've seen, it is EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. Pretty much sums up the whole concept of being an artist, to be the very best is to know how things work and know what goes where and the whole proportions, muscles, anatomy etc.

I'm not into Hogarth anatomy stuff cause it's a bit too complicated and not too well detailed (according to my POV that is).
I think it is wise to be versatile in about finding sites with human anatomy, try books. They seem to be good. I can't think of a title at the moment but I'm sure anyone can find it on Google or something XD!!

I love sketching from this site. I like the layout (Tumblr) and variety of body type (well, variety of female body type, anyway). It's a good anatomical reference if you're ever looking to draw real, not-model-perfect girls.

I dunno if this has been posted before but I found this cool site with a bunch of 3d objects. Stuff like ships, planes, rockets, tanks, vehicles, engines, and much more. Should be pretty useful for references and the like.

speaking of refs, i thought i might add this link:

http://www.ukhairdressers.com/style/style.asp

Its a website i use to search for hairstyles as a reference. You can filter it by various catergories which makes it damn handy. The only problem is that most of them seem to be heavily stylised or used for fashion rather then actually for everyday use. But you do find the odd good one here and there.

In my conquest to learn to code, I've come across a website that teaches you while you're doing it.

http://www.codecademy.com/

Tho, so far it only seems to cover javascript. It's not robust, but it does teach you the basic's and they do promise that they are adding more later. Now, if I could just find one that teaches c#. Did I mention it's entirely free and it offers badges?

All the gun references you will need. Really nice since they get them from multiple angles as well, instead of the extremely common profile view that leaves out a LOT of info.

Incidentally has some military equipment too, like helmets, headsets, electronic sights, views through thermal cameras (my favorite).

Loomis wrote great books, but FWIW each book on that page is back in print (in beautiful hardcover). They are not in the public domain.

Stan Prokopenko's made a nice video series about Loomis' head construction techniques:

Some nice stuff in here as usual.

I'm looking for something a little specific, I was considering plonking a ref request separately to this thread but decided it would get messy if everyone did that. I hope this request doesn't get over looked in here :/

Classic Mexican wrestling posters. I suppose it'd fall under the graphic design category. I've done a few google searches but the classic style poster I'm looking for is buried amongst many many other Mexican posters, particularly posters for movies about Mexican wrestlers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ;D even if it's just suggested search terms.

Look up,
El Santo posters
Lucha libre mexicana posters
Lucha Libre posters
La Parka poster

I grew up watching Mexican wrestling (what with me being a kid growing up in Mexico in the late 80's and early 90's and all), so I think I know what you're going for. Unfortunately, I don't have any specific links for you, but those search terms should point you in the right direction, at least.
Good luck. Make sure you show us what you come up with.

The 'Lucha Libra posters' search resulted in THIS but otherwise it's all pretty much what I was coming up with :( the poster on the right of the image is the sort of thing I'm looking for. Maybe something a little more vintage but otherwise that's it.

[edit]Heh, I seem to be getting somewhere just by adding the word 'vintage' to my search terms [/edit]

[edit2]Closer still [/edit2]
