Default AznPB's Sketchbook

Long time no see, Polykarbon!

As the title implies, here's my sketchbook. Looking to improve upon my style and most of these are rather old. So I don't know which ones are more recent than others. You might be able to tell by the amount of skill poured into some of these. Although some older ones are better than some of my newer works. :P

So here ya go. Suggestions on how to improve would be most appreciated. :P

It's all I got for now. Hopefully this is enough to help you indulge and what not. Enlighten dare I say it. So yeah! This is just for me so I have stuff to put where? Here! Ah yes, excellent. But yes. Any help is cool, too. See ya soon.

Some pretty awesome stuff here. Your mens feet stick out as being 'wrong' though, which is odd considering the hands and faces (usually the tricky bits) are great.

Very good drawings. I'd say the next step for you would be more action poses. What I see is mostly standing poses and face close ups. Also your comic page layouts are kinda dull. Don't be afraid to mix up the shapes and sizes of your panels. Larger panels for important action scenes, etc.

inukai > Thanks. Yeah. It's not too difficult to differentiate, right? XD

Quixotica > Domo arigato!

m3_freak > Yeah... I hate drawing feet. Something I REALLY need to work on.

R33$E > You really think so? I'm flattered! But, alas, it's not good enough to the point where I can say that I'm far more skilled than everyone on this site. XD Until then, I'll just have to keep on practicing!

londonman > Lots of compliments. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

HadOne2Many > Action poses... Maybe... As soon as I'm finito with all these damned concept drawings. :P I reallylike to focus on the face a lot becuase I feel that if I master it, I can tell so much about the person's personality, attitude and all of that jazz. :P That and my faces generally look the same. So I'm trying to figure out different eye, eyebrow, nose, and mouth styles. So yes. Mucho concentration on teh faces. As for my comic drawling skills? Yeah... Best way for me to describe it is... If life were like a video game, my skill points spent in comic drawing is about 1! XD Yeah!!!

So jyeah! I haven't been drawing lately but I have two I'm pretty proud of. ^_^ And here they are. They're for Orius, this brand new thing that's been in the making for helka days so I'm helping this dude realise his dreams by bringing his scripted characters to life.

This first one is Negative. Her power is to totally contradict those of others. :P So she has like this anti-power power. :P Not really villainy but hey, I was just focusing on the costume more than her gesture.

This second one... I was testing out my tablet for serious for the first time!!! And I must say that I think tablets are a very nifty invention.

Thanks everyone for the comments! Thanks!!!!

So! My cousin and I are chatting on AIM about Bleach because that's the ish to talk about nowadays. He's wondering when this whole Bounto shctuff is going to end and I say, "Who knows?" Then the conversation evolves into:

If you had a zanpaktou (Soul Slayer [as they are called in the states, I believe]) what abilities would it have and what would it look like? So then it transforms into a whole entire shinigami (Soul Reaper / Death God) bio. :P It's amazing how much more powerful I feel with this tablet. O_O The possibilities are endless!!!

PS... He's illiterate but Kishou likes caligraphy??? Wuteva! XD

Hey AznPB what's up! I see you made a sketchbook while I was gone. Awesome style, I'd say these are some of the best looking anime faces I've seen on this site. Specially the last ones. You're really good with that tablet.

One question: What did you do to make that first comic strip page. It looks amazing.

XD You know me, Broodagoz! You left? I kinda did, too for awhile. Funny how we return at sorta the same time??? Chyeah!

One answer: What did I do? Well, I took a normal piece of printing paper, made a 1 inch border, and started drawing, separating the things into boxes as I went along. Then I made the boxes into more smooth rectangle shapes. Scanned it and Ctrl + M it to make it real dark. As for the bubbles and text, I got a package from some site that offered some of these for free. I forget what the site is but I still have the two files on my computer if you'd like 'em some time. You just cut and paste what sound effect or bubble shape you like into your pic.

And here's a drawing I did in September that I just got back now that we're at the half-way mark of the semester. It's my rendition of Beowulf, champion of the Geats. I only had twenty minutes in English class to cook this up.

ooh - i wanna see what all the projecty style character designs are for - I love Negative - she's gonna be my bitch!

you;ve got some really l33t skillz here, a good eye for anatomy too. I'm just gonna suggest that you try doing some life drawings of real people, with refernece and take into account muscle shapes and how they work.

also - take a look at work from other projects in character design. Yoshitaka amano, yoji shinkawa would be good, and if you get newtype magazine, they always have a few pages dedicated to development sketches for things like full metal alchemist and anime

otheriwse - you;re definetly on my watch list!

GT> yeah, the guy with the budda gun was kinda random. Dunno why I decided to draw some guy wearing winter-ish clothing firing some fake gun while listening to Beastie Boys. :P

Toffeeliz> What an honor! I've seen your stuff already so I'm pretty excited about you commenting meh on my stuff.

Negative is apart of this project called Orius which has yet to take off. :P We're still in the concept drawing stages. It's been like... A year!? Whatever. Pretty interesting story this guy made up. I just draw his dreams onto paper. :P Some parts I could do without. Mainly the cliche things like 'fusing' and the like.

I've been told that my anatomy was alright. Life drawings is good practice, however... I'm too lazy to draw from life! I usually just make mental notes as I notice things and try to draw them later. Not as good of a method but hey. Better than looking at DBZ again. How's that for anatomy?

MGS artwork is so sexay. And here's some more sketches in my spare time.

PS How many smilies did I just put into here??? Thanks for the reviews!

Maan! You almost as good as a pro! You've gotta make a tutorial on how you draw faces and bodies. Please?
