Default Ladies, Mechs, Love (Jan09-09)

I’m trying to get back into this drawing/painting thingy your all doing. Well I still draw, but mostly just for school assignments. I haven’t pumped out one of my big pieces for almost half a year.

Wish me luck, and help motivate me.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Its an Elemental, yes they still own my battle armor attention. Right now the design is pretty liquid, trying to mix it up.

Test to see if I could still ink, I cant X(

Test of my anatomy and pose skills. They’re on the up for sure, but I need to try out some more extreme poses some time.

the pose in the inked pic is awesome! I'd love to see a finsihed version of that. The inking is ok, a little bumpy in places but thats what you get while using digital stuff. *hugs her dip pens* well, since this is a new start as such, I thin it needs more stuff in it! XD

Draw moar!

Toffeeliz - Thanks. The character in the inked pic is one I reuse, so there is a chance for some more complete stuff of it.

Muzz - Just my inks man, just my inks. Heres your moar!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Still not much coming out, but Im trying.

Sketching out some Ranger navy ship class ideas, ships are always fun and easy.

Infantry concept I came up with while OCing with Muzz. I've gone on to use it for a few school assignments. Armor rox at minimising anatomical effort.

And lastly, A semi quick line and paint I did. My friend and short term supplier of a place to live is using it as a poster in a 3D scene for school.

Thats all for now. I plan to leave school in about 5 months, then I hope to take back up the task of becoming a pro illustrator.

Just one this time. Resurected and now WIP again. When its truly done I might post it in the finished section.

Mech Hunter Fighter.

School has me pumping out a lot of nice traditional sketches, but I dont have a scanner atm. When I get one I put that stuff up.

Here we go, got another school term out of the way with one more to go, and heres some much needed mecha content.

Fully custom Elemental, light weight. Missing all torso armor revealing muscle / undersuit armor hybrid.

Mech I concepted in an OC with muzzoid. A bit over sectioned, but i like it.

Speed paint I did during my finals week for a break from homework. Did a speed paint of the same mech a while ago, definantly a change xD

Getting close to finalized version of a flat fronted Elemental head. I also need to do a sloped front version. Those are just primary designs though, customs can go anywhere.

Idea for a production model power armor based off elemental suit design.

Thats all for now. I would put up my 'drawing for animation' finals work (which Im quite proud of), but I accidentaly deleted all the scans/pictures, so those will have to wait untill I get my work back.

for some reason i cant quite get a grasp on your style. some of your drawings i tend to dislike and they seem to betray some skill while others really show off your skill. basically i feel the update with the speedpaint is weak, while your recent update is really strong. idk i guess its just your style, or maybe the speedpaint post is really old or somthing. also i realize i am posting at a late time and i have been up late drinking and taking care of friends. go booze!

r@nd0m-lamb - Thanks

Harryflesh - Yea, I feel the same way too. I like some of the stuff I turn out and think its strong, then I draw something that sucks right after. I do have something of a style but at this point I dont think I have anything nailed down to the degree that others here do (krasterk for example) so what I produce and the apeal of it still varries widely. Yes, go booze.

----------------

And here is what i have so far on that mech model. Just the head right now, which is mostly done, just some details left and to bevel the hard edges.

I use Maya8.5, but I will soon get Maya2008 (newest version). Maya is one of the industry standard 3d programs, so if you learn to use it you cant take those skills into the workplace. Then, it being professional grade makes it not to friendly to beginers. I was taught how to use it in school, teacher with experience and all.

So try it out, look up tutorials (as i doubt you can wing it like photoshop), and good luck.

Darkferret - orly?

It's an all ladies day wooooo, teh people wont stop demanding it.

Long distance friend of mine wants teh art, so I'm making her an msn avvy pic.

My line art part of an oc colab, still in progress, hopefully will get colored. (if anyone wants to color it, ask and ill post the high res).

All my character designs need work as most of them haven’t been for too long. Here is a quickie of a main character in the Rangers. She’s the commander of all elemental forces.

Another character, though this one has been developed more recently and was the center of my biggest final last term. I don’t like this piece too much, I'm rusty at my colors.
