![]() Just a little thing I made for practice after I took a look at Mezziod's tutorial, it helped out alot!
Big res for not much but anything lower kinda makes me feel a bit trapped in. ![]() This was just a goofy test when I first got my wacom hooked up and stuff. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Exigent : 01-04-2009 at 03:21 AM. |

![]() Those cylinders are rendered pretty well. Although I would cut back a bit on the darkness of your shadows. As a general rule I try to avoid using pure black (or white) and will instead use a value that will appear very dark next to the other values.

![]() ![]() Some more practice. Working on ridged shapes for now. Curves are still a bit intimidating for me. Last edited by Exigent : 01-04-2009 at 03:21 AM. |

![]() Took some advice and drew a pencil, I kinda lost interest when I got down to the led and the shadow was just scribbled onto it.

![]() Pretty good work! Decent shading and things. But the one spoiler in all of em are the untidy edges, and for some of them, a lack of contrast. I'd like to see more firm shapes and cleaner edges D:

![]() Yeah, i've been working in grey scale to get comfy, still a bit iffy about certain stuff but i'll expand my horizons a bit. I'm being a bt of a night owl so you might see something done early this morning.
Edit* Not really a sketch, but it's an old piece I sculpted. I still have it too and it hasn't been painted since I had it fired, haha. I may get into sculpting again too, it's one of my other passions. ![]() |

![]() Yeah, i've been using OC 2.24. A buddy of mine turned me on to it. I've always loved art I just didn't have the room for it so I asked for a wacom for christmas and got one and i've been using it since then. I'm really pushing myself to draw everyday to get back my lost edge, haha.

![]() Shapes and line practice. Trying to get used to making smoother curves and such so I don't have to peck at it with very short lines. Nothing special in general.

![]() For the pill, it needs WAY more contrast and "pure white/black" highlights considering that it's supposed to be shiny. I suspect that you're taking Jeco's advice a little too extreme such that the pictures appear a little flat now @_@ Just remember, the shinier, the more pure white/black highlights, though the "white" and "black" is relative to the color of lighting in its surroundings. Turn up the contrast a little, yeah? ^^
Otherwise, good job, keep practicing those shapes and curves ^^ |

![]() practice makes perfect! something that helped me draw hands is just reffing my own hands with pencil and paper :P just make a fist or anything else really and draw it on paper over and over! put black in the darkest spots, leave it white in the lightest spots and shade in between. eventually you will learn basically how the bones and fat and skin all work together to create the unique shape of a hand

![]() Tried something new today, an almost complete male body. One of the things i've been dreading practicing but I man'd up and dove in and it didn't turn out half bad.
