Default Sketchbook

First, some traditional stuff... drawn in an airport, waiting for my flight back home.

Og, Son of Grog - Here we see Og in retirement, dreaming of his days of adventure on the high seas. Not bad for an old ogre.

Roxx - I had this sitting in my sketchbook, and decided to ink it. It's not my usual speed because I couldn't find the reference sheet, but still.

Pensive Dude #1 - I saw an ad in a magazine, and since I still had half-an-hour left, I doodled this guy up.

Pensive Dude #2 - Saw another ad in the same magazine, so this guy was next. I had some fun with him by making him look all evil and stuff.

Off The Hook - This is just one scene from an upcoming Flash animation project. Drew Roxx OK, but I'm not happy with Dina's pose, or the layout. I may revisit this one later.

Random Girl #345 - Ouch. See what happens when you don't look out for big old rocks on a nice clean page?

Random Girl #346 - More quick doodling.

Mortimer - I got this guy from a Haunted Mansion book. Since I now own a Wacom, I thought I'd try it out.

Vroom - I downloaded Corel Sketch Pad, and this is a screenshot of more doodling around.

Big Barda - Not quite a Random Girl, but not quite finished, either.

Rogue - My favorite X-men female hero. What's up with the fanart? I dunno, too lazy to come up with more original girls I guess.

More to come.

Very nice sketchbook, though I think the perspective is a bit weird on that last one... poor Amber :P

FlyingChild - Yeah, I noticed that, too. I was sitting on a bench in the theater waiting for the movie to start, and quickly added a background to just another Random Girl pic so she wasn't just floating there. Normally, I do backgrounds first.

ssjmvegita - More on the way. I've already started redrawing Off The Hook instead of it just being a sketchbook entry.

#346 her left breast doesn't look like it's much getting affected by her arm, and the way her other one is (and everything else lines up) it looks like it should be affected a slight bit more unless she's really lopsided ^_^

But I could look at your art all day Prof

This was supposed to make her look not so much lopsided as busty. Her right arm is supposed to be holding up the clipboard, and supporting a bit of her right bewb. Looks like I may have to do more studies. Like THAT would be an issue.

Thanks.

Wacom Attempt #3 - Done up with Sketchpad and a flex nib. I like this nib best of all right now... big thanks to muzzoid for the tip!

Random Girl #347 - Also done with the Wacom. Probably counts as attempt #4. I Think the face looks a little wierd, but you weren't looking at her face, right?

Slowly, I'm getting the hang of this Wacom thing. More soon...

That's really good, I just came back from Transformers 2 so it just reminds me that movie. :P anyways, I think its right wing is larger than its left. That's an awesome "attempt", imo. (BTW, the movie is fantastic )

I think her face looks weird because her hair defies the laws of physics!

Also it's past my bedtime...

And please keep posting inspiration!

REDRAW - Random Girl #347. Redid the hair and cleaned up the lineart a bit. Not so gravity-defying.

I figure if I keep goofing around with this one, it'll look too overworked, so it's done for now.

I think it's perfect* - the hair makes her look a lot better.

*perfect in the sense that there's nothing else you could or should do with it, unless you were adding a background.

Xenid Aerial Mecha - Inked up goodness, done with nibs and Speedball Superblack India ink. I'm updating my online portfolio, so expect more stuff soon.

Default Update? What's that?!?

More AzTech Roadshow stuff. I had a two-week business trip to Florida, and sketched and inked these two during one layover and one of the legs of the journey coming back home. No younguns this time, just a couple of adults who couldn't keep their eyes off the pen and paper...

This is Ouri, from the Gestalt manga I'm currently reading.

Roxx in flight mode, for the Off The Hook segment I've been working on and off for the past couple of months.

Another piece, from another thread. More practice with the Wacom. I may or may not end up shading this.

Awesome updates

Ouri's eyes/mouth bother me though - is her face a little lopsided in the manga? It seems like her eyes are tilted a bit "wrong"

Nope, that was some skewing going on that I didn't correct before I went to inks. I drew that one start to finish sitting in an airport, so I didn't get to scan it and then flip it to double check it the way I usually do. I flipped that page over in my sketchbook as soon I saw your comment, and now it's really obvious.

Good catch. Thanks.
