Default scribblin' while i should be workin'

Hoy,
been I while since I posted a sketchbook, mostly because I simply had no time to draw anything. Now I just have the feeling that giving c&c to others is just not right if I didn't show any of my scribbles.
So here are some - as the title says, mostly things I sketched while sitting in boring meetings or such at work.
Any c&c is welcome.

that's actually not from work, I made it in a rare 10min break while my kiddo was sleeping

heroes of my youth ... started some reference drawing to improve knowlege of anatomy

I shouldn't be saying this since I rarely draw at all, but imo use a small cheap sketchbook to carry around, because graph paper and the back of school exams smear and make a mess when your carrying stuff around.

but if you're going to use it, try practicing by drawing people in your immediate environment, it's hilarious to watch them cover their heads when they know they're being watched.

I actually have such a small sketchbook and I even use it in the sugested way from time to time. But at work it would be a bit obvious

Anyhow, 2 more, ref'ed again.

Kind of a weekly update...

Here I tried to do some combat armor. Originally I tried to go for something I'd seen in ShimmeringSword's sketchbook, but it now looks more like some kind of police riot suit.

With this one I tried to get some overhead perspective. It worked for the front guy, I think, but I messed up the rear guy. Also the weapons arm looks stupid.

That's the Urban Earth Mage posted in noremac's fightclub. I'm currently trying to get more of these urban mage types.

Btw, c&c would be always appreciated.

I think more focus on proportions and gesture (showing the figure's movement in a basic sketch) will do you good

Some "baby-shots" ... Tried to draw my kid, but as he's never holding still the only good picture is when he was sleeping on me.

Ref'ed drawing of a green mamba. Want to color that later.

I've been doing this battlesuit-drawing (find it in WIP section) and got confused with perspective and features etc. so I did another pencil drawing of the battlesuit. Still feels a bit awkward to draw with a tablet.

This is a WIP. Inked now, will be colored soon.

Buddy. That first nipple shot is freakin' me out. I think it's alive lol

But for real, I'd like to see how you do your eyes. Do you have any sketches or studies on that subject?

Nipple shot, nipple shot ... naah, better not comment, that would get dirty :p
Thanks a lot.

But what about eyes? Who's eyes? I suck at eyes (not literally though). Usually I try to cheat my way around the eyes-issue.
Actually I'm currently trying to test different styles for eyes for a comic project.

Little update. Messed with digital painting some more.

This one was completely done in OC 1.1. Arms are too thin, hands and feet are wonky, but I still like how it turned out.

Colors done in Gimp2.6.

Another bunch.

Ringwraith and Hobbits. Lines with pencil, colors with markers ... colors are not so great, but it was the first time I colored with markers. Strange experience.

Heads and faces. Needs lots of training.

Hands. You can't practise hands enough.

Jumpsuit concept.

Towers-WIP. Never did 2pt-perspective before. It's fun.

This one is ref'ed from the sculpture "Prinzessinnengruppe" by Gotfried Schadow.
Messed up the left breast.

That's Qui-Gon Jinn from StarWars EP1. Turned out very manga'ish... some habit that I seem to be unable to break so far.

After drawing the Qui-Gon comic version, I tried again, with reference. Still not satisfying (and the scanning somehow made it even worse).

This one is actually a commission. I've been asked to draw some logo for a poker club called "Suited Connectors". The requirement is to draw two cards of the same color (suit) and of connecting numbers, wearing a suit (haha, pun) and sunglasses.
It's still WIP, but that concept sketch has already been approved.

Messed around with zBrush a bit. Didn't quite get the hang of it so far though.

Done some speedpainting in SAI. Only used my mouse and only a single layer.

This one took about 10min.

This one was done by reference. Took about 1,5h.

Default 100+ faces

Here's a once-per-year update of my sketchbook.
I felt I had some problems drawing faces, so I challenged myself to draw 100 faces and document the process.

So here it is - took me about 5 months in the end. I'm a slow worker. And due to this, there's not a huge amount of improvement. But still, there IS improvement, so I think I did something worth the time.

There are some markings next to the counters. RF means "reference", LR means "live reference" (usually guerilla-sketching in the train), MR means "from memory".

Here is what I started with:

02-10
Spoiler:

11-19
Spoiler:

19-30
Spoiler:

31-40
Spoiler:

41-49
Spoiler:

51-59
Spoiler:

60-70
Spoiler:

71-80
Spoiler:

81-90
Spoiler:

91-99
Spoiler:

And this is the end of the challenge - no big breakthrough.

And here's some bonus stuff. Mainly faces I scribbled on crap paper.
And some bewbs. You can't have a sketchbook-post without some bewbs.
Spoiler:
