Default Late Night Sketches *01-21-2011 color studies

Just some stuff i've been doing recently. My recent realization that I did not really understand human anatomy as well as i thought i did gave me an urge to study up.

Heres some random sketching over the last few days.

And heres some color stuff.

The forest stream picture was reference from an image someone posted in the WIP forums (i think). For some reason my speedpaints always turn out a bit blurry. I dont know why.

looks like somebody has been watching too much pr0n, from the looks of those studies. then again you are being more productive than me so...

maybe your landscapes are too blurry cause your brushes are too low res for the scale you are working at? maybe you can adjust the hardness(hu hu) of the brush.

the landscapes especially the first one look first rate.
i need to do more anatomy studies... i feel like "stylization" has taken over. and i feel lazy...

Muz: thanks

Crayonblood: THanks. I'm pretty sure my brushes are at a good resolution. Gonna try applying a sharpen filter next time. I see alot of digital artists doing that.

Heres another one for tonight. Tried to work on some armor designs but they turned out pretty generic. Blah.

Dayum bloody awesome figure work you've got there. Great feel!

Armor designs look good. I prefer the more muted and grounded-in-reality designs, so I'm likin' it. The landscapes are total pwnage for speedy work! I recognize both, lulz. xD What kinda brushes do you use?

Will be checkin' back for more pwnsomeness.

Nothing wrong with generic armor. Not every foot soldier gets to wear the glitzy stuff, ya know. Nice flow of shapes, and good understanding of how it's supposed to look.

Great stuff.

I like your style, i also see some influences from tutorials and from graphic novels.
Pretty much refined, too.
Can't say much more, except that your art is pretty much cool.
I can't wait to advance in a similiar level and beyond.
And i hope that you also go beyond the beyond, good luck.

The lines are so freakin' delicious. Loving the armor! The life studies were good, I liked the blocky shading. Very very nice.

(If you're interested in the longsword shiz, these are the German guards in case you haven't looked it up already.)

Stephen: THanks

astrapho: That link is pretty cool. Good for some pose reference, it'll definitely come in handy. Thanks.

Weekly figure drawing and a environment study.

I need to better organize my spaces so i can better convey depth in my enviros. Something ill keep working on.

Hooray for backgrounds! That environment piece is outstanding. The figure studies are very nice, as well. Keep up the great work!

Prof Az: Thanks

Crayonblood: Yeah, i seem to have trouble finishing things off. Thanks though.

Here's a environment i was working on today. It's fairly nebulous in alot of parts still. The foreground was more or less and afterthought. I hope to get better and to do more of these in the near future.

Damn, I really love those backgrounds, and your figures are so smooth. Can see improvements, bit by bit. Keep it up bro.
